CLL Alternatives

About

All dressed up for our nephews wedding.

I am a 60-year old woman (as of 2015).  (The photo is five years old) I am a mother, a wife, a dog owner, a writer, a web master and a poet.  I was diagnosed with CLL (chronic lymphocytic leukemia) in 2001.  I’ve never yet had conventional treatment, but I consider it to be my personal quest to achieve “spontaneous” remission.  I want to shock the doctors who will believe that this happened all on its own, (as if the CLL were an entity onto itself).  This blog site is my effort to share all the information I’ve gathered over years since diagnosis in my quest for good health.  If you or a loved one is facing this diagnosis (I don’t like to call it a disease; that sounds too serious), you need all the information you can get!  I hope you find this helpful.  I hope you find this hopeful.  And I would love to hear from you any time.  Contact me via the comment section or directly at cllalternatives @ gmail.com (no spaces).

One more thing:  this site is NOT FOR PROFIT.  There are and will be no ads for anything.  Its purpose is to share information only.

Diagnosied by bone marrow biopsy in 2001, healthy happy 51 year old woman, slowly progressing CLL for 10 years, yet never needed treatment. About 4 years numbers started improving and now normal. Maybe 1 point high still on lymphocytes. I figured it was a spontaneous regression from what I read on web. My doctor seems baffled has never seen this before and is not even curious why it’s gone. Yet they still take blood every 6 months and I worry each time this is just temporary. Can’t believe it’s all the green tea I drink, I also drink red wine and vodka and that can’t be good, but hey, why change now.

Just glad to read about others like me who were told they had this incurable disease and are now disease free. I’ve tried to find if there is a site for people like us to try to figure out if it is something we have in common or did to overcome this so we can help others, even wrote MD Anderson, no reply, figure if they can’t make money off us with money making treatments they don’t care.

Hi Janis,
So sorry it’s taken me this long to respond. I blame it simply on my lack of techno-savvy, and my overwhelming email accounts. Apology aside, what an exciting story you have in your CLL journey. How much green tea do you drink? And beside the red wine and vodka, what is in your diet? You must be doing something right! M.D. Anderson may not be excited, but certainly am. I’ve been working on spontaneous remission for 14+ years now. I think my case might be tougher than yours, but still I’m happy because I’m alive and well and have never had any conventional treatment.

So Janis, could you give all the information you can? All the diet, lifestyle, supplements, exercise, sleep, meditation, yoga (whatever), so it can be shared on this site?

A big THANK YOU for writing. And I wish you continued good health and a wonderful long and happy life!!!! – Denise

Hi Janis – this is great news. I just found this site and would like to share what I have learned. It doesn’t matter to me if there are only a few of us nor if ‘they’ say it never happens. I’ll be posting more soon.
